12:30 A.M. Winter Storm Update...Will It Rain, Will It Snow?...NO MODEL KNOWS!

Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with a 12:30 A.M. winter storm update...and the 0z run of the GFS shows the rain snow line sitting across the Mason/Dixon line south of York, PA...and then moving northeastward toward Allentown, PA. On the same token, the NAM model has the line south of there, and another model has the line even farther south. Some models now suggest a track inland, whereas others suggest a stronger storm with rapid cooling moving into the middle of it. Here's what I say: Will It Rain? Will It Snow? Well, NO MODEL KNOWS!! And quite frankly, it's really ticking me off that we have this much disagreement among the models this close to the storm. So I am not going to discuss anything more tonight as I think it is pointless until tomorrow afternoon given that the models are so erratic with there storm tracks and rain/snow line...so that's about all I have for tonight. Hope ya'll have a great night and I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow! By the way, two quick things: #1) I still am sticking with my forecast of 3-5 maybe 6 inches for the cities I mentioned earlier...and #2) The GFS showed a moderate storm, so I have now gone into Storm Alert Mode! This has been Junior Meteorologist (Storm Tracker) Kyle Elliott with a special update for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center, in Storm Alert Mode!
