Special Report...First Major Snowfall Sunday Night Into Monday?

Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with a special report about the chance of snow this coming Sunday night into Monday...the fourth storm that I have been talking about in the series of storms that are coming across the country. First, the third storm will cross our area tomrrow night into early Saturday bringing with it heavy rains accumulating up to an inch...with the chance of a flurry on the backside with no accumulation. After that, a chilly high pressure system will move over the area on Sunday before a wave of low pressure exits the Virginia Coast late Sunday night into Monday. If the precipitation associated with this low can creep up into the cold airmass in place, then we could see our first significant snowfall of the season...but this does not appears likely at this point. What seems more likely, and the same solution I mentioned earlier, is that the storm coming across the Great Lakes on Monday taps the moisture of the Sunday/Monday storm and precipitation develops across central and eastern Pennsylvania...but even that is a bit of a long shot at this point. So all this definitely bears watching, but just thought I'd give ya'll my latest thoughts and an early "heads-up" about the possibility of significant snow late this weekend into early next week. So hope ya'll have a great rest of your evening and I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow! This is Junior Meteorologist (Storm Tracker) Kyle Elliott with a special report for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center!
