Daily Weather Pattern Discussion..."I can see the looks in their faces!"
Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with our daily weather pattern discussion...and first of all, I want to apologize for not posting the last few days. I have been extremely busy and have not had time for much of anything, but now I'm back and ready to rock and roll again! Anyways, as you saw in my title "I can see the looks on their faces," I can already imagine the shock that snow-lovers who have seen the 18z models tonight have experienced as SNOW is back in the forecast for south-central Pennsylvania once again. The 18z models suddenly have gone to a cold and very heavy wet snowy solution for the storm tomorrow night as now they track the storm off the southeastern Virginia coastline, which would lead to 4-8 inches of snowfall for my area. Whereas the models this morning and even the 12z models of this afternoon showed a storm system getting no farther north than southern Virginia, now in only two runs of the models the storm is supposed to affect parts of southern PA and northern MD the worst. Simply incredible and spectacular!! Let me tell you, when I saw the 18z runs tonight I was both excited and shocked at the same time...don't get me wrong, I want spring but another snow would be nice. So right now, I don't want to go into too much detail yet as even though the storm is only a day and a half away, the models have been all over the place today so that makes forecasting hard at this point. I will say this, though: I think we will see some snow here in southern Pennsylvania with a shocking change as highs tomorrow reach the 60s followed by wet snow and the 30s by the time we wake up on Sunday morning. Just how much snow falls yet, well, I'm frankly not sure...but if I had to go with my gut I'd only say about 1-2 inches. Even if we do get more, it will be gone in a day as temperatures are going to go right back up into the 50s by early next week as springtime weather comes back into the region. So anyways, that's about all I have time for now, so hope ya'll have enjoyed the recent spring-like weather and snow-lovers, hold your hopes high for snow chances tomorrow night! This is Junior Meteorologist (Storm Tracker) Kyle Elliott reporting for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center!
