Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott...and the much-hyped "Groundhog's Day Superstorm" that I'm sure ya'll have been hearing about for the past several days is now looking to be a "NO-GO!" The reason I have not posted HYPE on here or anywhere else...lest even post in the last five days is because from the very beginning of all this HYPE, I had a gut feeling the storm would end up going out into the ocean and not even touch the Eastern Seaboard. I'm glad I stuck with my gut and did not post some far-out snowfall map for the I-95 corridor, because now it appears as though they will see little if any snowfall with the latest runs of the GFS and NAM models. So, I've decided to post a very realistic snowfall map as to what snowfall possibility remains between tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning in the Middle Atlantic region. My snowfall map is above...granted, I know most of you are disappointed with what I see, but I'm almost 90% confident on my map. So once again, a bust for the region...causing me to make my decision to stop sniffing out winter storms but instead sniffing out spring-like weather. I usually make that change around the beginning of February, so it's nothing new for me. But even still, I thought I'd let ya'll know that I'm done with winter HYPE and now moving on to spring. If a big snowstorm becomes imminent, I will post maps, discussions, etc...but as far as long-range HYPE, it's over folks. So that's all I have for now, so hope ya'll have a great rest of your evening and I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow with one last update on the storm and my last post regarding winter storms!
