Clipper Update and Lake Effect!
Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with a 1:10 A.M. January 1, 2008, Clipper Update...and the snow map I issued earlier is doing fairly well as of now except that through Ohio, it appears as if I may have put my 2-4 and 1-3 inch areas slightly further south than I should have. Other than that, though, the map is doing quite well as forecasts are holding true. I really have no more to update and my thoughts remain the same for the Clipper, so the only thing I have to add for tonight is that on Wednesday it does now appears as if lake-effect snow squalls will be fairly common throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania, possibly giving areas a dusting to an inch or two on the east side of the mountains. So take precautions if you must drive Wednesday as visibilites could drop quickly in squalls...but other than that, just expect cold temperatures for the remainder of the week with partly sunny skies before a nice warm-up takes place by late in the weekend and early next week. But once again, a major cold shot is back on the models for mid to late January on the latest runs...things could get interesting a two weeks or so... So that's a good place to stop for now as I have spilled out all my ideas tonight, so hope ya'll had a great New Year's Eve and have a Happy New Year everyone! This has been Junior Meteorologist (Storm Tracker) Kyle Elliott with a special report for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center!
