Special Storm Update...A Grave Disappointment!

Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with a special winter storm update...and it appears as if this storm may turn out to be a grave disappointment for many snow-lovers East of the Appalachian Mountains. A stream of warm air aloft has begun to surge northward from the Virginias and will continue to stream across PA and southern NY for tonight. We here in York will end up with less than 1" of snow and sleet accumulation, and could possibly see a damaging icestorm with up to one quarter inch of ice secretion. The primary low is slightly farther south and slightly weaker than the models showed, just as I expected, so if the secondary, which has already developed on Cape Hatteras of North Carolina, bombs out faster and moves farther East than expected, we still could end up with a little snow on the backlash of this storm system, but that is doubtful at this point. So Baltimore will see a rainstorm out of this, along with Washington, DC, and Philadelphia. New York City will start as sleet and snow before quickly going over to rain, with very minor accumulations of less than one ince. Allentown, PA, will see 1-3 inches of snow before changing over to rain and freezing. Williamsport will see 2-3 inches of snow before changing over to sleet and freezing rain, with up to a quarter inch of ice secretion. State College will see 2-4 inches of snow with some sleet and freezing rain accumulation before another inch of so of snowfall accumulation due to the backlash of the storm tomorrow. So overall, the heaviest snows will be from Chicago to Detroit to Buffalo to Syracuse to Burlington to Caribou...where up to 2 feet of snow could fall in some places. Overall, though, this storm has turned out to be a big disappointment in my book, so that's the latest on this storm and my latest thoughts, so I will continue to update over the next 2-3 hours, but at any rate, this storm was a big bust for most. All we can hope for now is the Christmas Day Snowstorm forecast by the GFS to come true...at any rate though, if you have any further questions or thoughts on this storm or would like to know my forecast total snowfall accumulation for your area, please, feel free to e-mail me at akstormtracker17@yahoo.com or kyleae@earthlink.net! This has been Junior Meteorologist (Storm Tracker) Kyle Elliott with a special update on the winter storm for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center, in Storm Disappointment Mode...
