Winter Season 2008-2009 Outlook Map...Above Average Snowfall In Major Cities!

In regards to the person who asked about the below average snowfall in the above average zone, I put that in there to represent a zone over York, PA, where I live which I refer to as the R.O.Z..or Rip Off Zone. The only reason I put that there is to represent the small area surrounding my house which seems to get ripped off every time a snowstorm, rainstorm, thunderstorm, or anything else weather-wise is headed toward our area. They always seem to miss us, so that is the only reason the yellow zone is over south-central Pennsylvania. Oh, and I do NOT appreciate those who comment under this map calling it a "Dork Wishcast" and calling me a "loser." Given the pattern for this upcoming winter, I see no reason why this map should not come true. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's my best guess for now. And I personally want to thank everybody who is sticking up for me against the "trolls" that have commented under here..they have no reason to be doing so and I appreciate the defense. So thank you blizzardfan and anybody else who tried to put some sanity into those very uncivilized comments. Finally, if I find how to delete comments on here, you trolls who posted the nasty comments under here will come back to find them to be gone. So I suggest not posting anymore of those nasty comments, and e-mail me first if you do not understand something. Everything I put on a map has a reason behind it.

Finally! another good winter in the northeast is what we need.. It's been like three years in a row that we have been mild with almost nothing...

I hope we get another blizzard of 96 etc... I believe that the upcoming winter is going to be much different than the last two....

It's showing variable signs of a weak La-nina.

I think you should put a avg. or above avg. bubble over all of Virginia because weak La Nina's, Neutral, or weak-strong El Nino's historically speaking have caused snowy winters on the east coast.

But it depends on a lot more than just the ENSO state. We need to pray that the southeast ridge will be much weaker or even non-existent and that the NAO can actually go negative during the winter. I'm really hoping the PDO can at least start heading more towards positive. I've had below average snowfall the last 5 winters here near D.C.

In regard to whoever posted the first comment here...

Two things here. First things first...weather forecasting is a tough job...and can be challenging...so calling someone a loser just because they are giving out a forecast that YOU think isn't true is just plain mean. I know I'm not the runner of this blog, but I think the runners of this blog would certainly appreciate if you didn't call them names. This is not meant to be a personal attack...just a statement that I believe has to be made. Thank you.

And lastly...this is what the current long-term pattern favors for next winters precipitation. I believe this map 100%.

Should still put an above avg over the rest of virginia.....If you know the weather good then you know that historically speaking neutral-weak el nino years favor the most snow in the east.
