Patience Is A Virtue...Especially When It Comes To Waiting For Snow!
Hello this is Kyle Elliott for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center...and patience will be a virtue for snow lovers across the Mid-Atlantic region over the next several weeks. It appears that, after a brief cold shot tomorrow, warmer weather will once again take over the Eastern half of the U.S. In reality, this warm shot is more like Indian Summer than the one that was in the area about a week ago since we've now had a freeze even down into the I-95 corridor. So, according to the forecasting models, the earliest another cold shot could come into the region is in about ten days...but most hold this shot off until at least November 20th or so. Temperatures tomorrow will range from the 50s around Baltimore and Washington to only the upper 30s throughout NY State, Vermont, and New Hampshire...but will quickly rebound into the 50s throughout NY State down through southern Pennsylvania by Saturday. On Sunday, the true warming of Indian Summer will be felt as 60s will reach northward to Albany, NY, to Boston Massachusetts. Middle to upper 60s will rule the roost south of I-80, and a 70 degree reading could even be found as far north as Baltimore, MD, by Monday and/or Tuesday. So, other than the fact that I saw a lightning bolt with some thundershowers that moved through today under a strong, unstable upper-air cold pocket while the temperature sat at 37 degrees, there is really not too much more to talk about right now. Enjoy Indian Summer for the next week or more, and I'll post again once that arctic shot of air signifying the true arrival of the winter arrives. Hope ya'll have a great evening...be patient snow-lovers, because your time will come soon enough...and I'll talk to ya'll later!
