10 P.M. 0z NAM Winter Storm Update!
Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with a 9:45 P.M. update on the winter storm this Sunday night and Monday...and the 0z run of the NAM once again has a weaker wave coming through our area with snow barely reachin any further north than Harrisburg or Williamsport, PA. Now, you may ask, do I think the latest model is right? I would answer, "NO!"...but on the same token, I am kind of glad the model has the storm more southern and a colder storm because it encourages the idea of more cold air in place and the storm possible not moving extremely close to the coast so that snow changes over to rain. So overall, I like the run only because we kind of needed it to go slightly southern for a decent snowstorm...and by tomorrow evening's runs, I'm sure it will be back north again and we will be primed for a decent snowstorm by Sunday night. My forecast predictions remain the same...look at my colleague's snow map for exact amounts in your area. He did an excellent job with his map and I almost agree with him 100% on forecast accumulations, so for more exact totals for your hometown, check his map he posted early. So that's where things stand for now, and I will post again around 11:30 P.M. when the 0z run of the GFS model comes in. That's all for now and I'll talk to ya'll soon! This is Junior Meteorologist (Storm Tracker) Kyle Elliott reporting for the AKStormtracker Forecasting Center, in High Anticipation Mode!
