Analysis Of My Final 14th Storm Forecast...Where I Went Right And Wrong!

Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with an analysis of my final storm snowfall forecast yesterday...and basically I will be taking a quick look at where I went right and wrong in my forecast and apologizing for a few stupid errors. First, my "right" forecasts included my area because the area saw absolutely no snowfall from the storm except for a few backlash flurries and snow showers today that coated the ground in spots...just as I'd predicted. Another "right" forecast included the Easton and Allentown areas as I forecasted 2-5 inches and most places saw 2-3 with the isolated 4 inch amount. Also, I was right in saying that anywhere south and west of Reading, PA, would see absolutely no chance of measureable snowfall...and that held true to a tee. Finally, I was right in my swath of heaviest snow from Worcester to northern Connecticut as many places saw 9-11 inch amounts. Also, I had hinted on eastern Maine getting a good dousing of snow, and that forecast came to fruition today. So overall, I did not forecast this storm very badly for most areas...but where I did issue a bad forecast, it was done so in a most grotesk way. I apologize for my overestimation of snowfall for central and northern New Jersey through the New York City and southern Connecticut areas. I had forecasted all those places would see a general 4-7 inches with 7-10 inch amounts in northern NJ and central Connecticut, but in reality, there were only isolated reports of barely 3 or 4 inches...and most areas walked away with 1 inch or so. I should have realized that there was WAY too much warm air across those areas for them to receive the 4-10 inches I was forecasting...and instead of using common sense to make an all-around great forecast, I believed in the models which did not make sense and issued a bum forecast for a large and heavily populated area. So once again, sorry for that amature area and I hope ya'll who got ripped off from this storm can get your fair share of snow as the next storm approaches. So that's about all I have for that forecast analysis, so hope ya'll have a great rest of your evening and I'll talk to ya'll later tonight when I post my weather pattern discussion and discuss the upcoming pattern change along with storm possibilities! If you have any questions on this analysis or would like to give me data from your area during the storm, please, feel free to e-mail me at akstormtracker17@yahoo.com or kyleae@earthlink.net!
