Final Storm Forecast...Yet Another Disappointment!

Hello this is Junior Meteorologist Kyle Elliott with my final storm snowfall forecast for the winter storm coming up tonight and tomorrow...and for most people who really want to see snow (from Philly to D.C.) this will once again be another major disappointment. That includes me here in York, too, where my final storm forecast is for light rain to overspread the region in a couple of hours turning over to light snow after 11 P.M. with total storm accumulations of nothing at all to isolated spots at one inch across the far northern and northeastern parts of the county. It just seems to not want to snow here this year, and maybe sooner or later I'll learn that so I can make more accurate forecasts a couple of days before the storm hits instead of 5 hours before. For Harrisburg, light rain will overspread the region and quickly change over to light snow with total storm accumulations of nothing at all to a half an inch. For Allentown and Easton, PA, total storm accumulations will rainge from 2-5 inches...and Philadelphia, well, you guys will see 95% of precipitation fall as plain rain. Farther north in northern NJ and New York City, precipitation should briefly start out as rain before almost immediately changing over to snow with total accumulations ranging from 7-10 inches across northern NJ and about 4-7 inches in the NY metrapolatin area. The big winners from this storm should be Connecticut and Massachusetts where a general heavy wet 6-12 inches will fall with 12-16 inches anywhere from just north Hartford to Worcester, Massachusetts. Eastern Maine will also get blasted with heavy snow before totals drastically decrease as you move farther north and west across the state. Basically, anywhere north and east of Reading, PA, has a chance to see measurable snow out of this storm...and anywhere south and west of that location will probably see no more than dustings to an inch of snow. So overall, for those who really want to see snow badly, this storm looks to be another grave disappointment. So that's about all I have for now, so hope ya'll have a great rest of your evening and I'll continue to update throughout the evening! If you have any questions or thoughts on the storm, please, feel free to e-mail me at akstormtracker17@yahoo.com or kyleae@earthlink.net!
